I’m fortunate to live in Tennessee in the springtime. It’s my favorite
season here and today there’s a slow steady rain, the green is so intense
it's glowing. I'm grateful and excited to be writing to you about a couple of musical events.
First, is the song release happening TODAY, May 15th 2018 ,
The God I Knew, co-writers Allison Dowsley and Stephan Gaus.
The song was written at Mercyland
songwriting workshop, January 2017 which has become an annual
tradition for me since it’s beginnings in 2015.
Merrill Farnsworth, dear friend and writing mentor invited me to attend
and perform at the first Mercyland in Grayton Beach, FL, January 2015
soon after the release of my first CD Resistance. Little did we know then
that she and her partner Phil Madeira would start a heartfelt, soulful
community of songwriters. We lost Merrill in September of 2017 to
Cancer so I am honoring her legacy with the song release. It was her
prompt, “your favorite Bible verse” that inspired the song.
I had a great experience recording the song with producer John Painter
who played on the song along with Dennis Holt on drums. It’s a song
that became even more meaningful after learning about Merrill’s
diagnosis.
I’m also excited to announce I’ll be performing full band on May 26th at the Thistletop Inn.
Jeffrey Dopp, Don Morgan and Dennis Holt will be accompanying. The evening line up includes 3 other wonderful artists.
